I'm one lazy bastard... this is my first post in like 3 months. I haven't really been doing anything of note lately. I've been working 40 hours a week at home depot. I hate my job with a passion. I've only finished my first 40 hour week there and I hate it already. There is no way in hell I could ever do this job for 40 hours a week for the rest of my life. Anyone who does is nuts. The job is so unstimulating. So much repetition. I am a creature of habbit, however this job is one thing that I wish I could change. I'm currently looking for a new job. Hopefully I find one, but it's hard. All this has given me the motivation to complete college. If you see me still working at home depot in like 2 years you know I fucked up big time. I guess thats enough about home depot for now...

As for a social life, I really haven't had much of one. I pretty much spend all of my free time driving around like I did in high school and watching tv shows I downloaded. For anyone who hasn't seen it, Prison Break is probably my favorite. Other than this I do go bowling once a week. In a league. Averaging 171.... and moving up. I have also started to hang out at various bars that have poker tournaments. Granted Im not that good at it, I still have fun. I've finished 3rd twice and 2nd once... I always managed to get screwed some how at the final table when I get there. I guess that's pretty much all... hopefuly I post more frequently...

Seeing as how nothing really interesting ever happens to me this is my first update in about a month... Nothing of importance has happened. I still havent written my papers that are due next week... I guess I should be doing those instead of updating this blog. I am still deciding what classes to take in the fall. I know I'll have physical meteorology, instrumentation, and linear algebra. Since I dont have many credits left until I graduate, im just taking 12 hours. I am debating whether I should take a theology class or an air polution class. Either way I'm only going to have 3 hard classes. Which in return probably means even more slacking off by me.
Lately I've been playing the N64 again... some great games on that system. I've mostly been playing mario golf and mario kart. My dvd collection is growing by leaps and bounds thanks to my dvd burner and netflix.... mwhahhaha. I didnt do anything over spring break... mostly just hung around the house, watched basketball, or worked. I got an email the other day saying that they didnt get funding for that Oklahoma program. Which sucks. I guess Im going to have to find something else to do with my summer now. Oh well. As long as its not more hours at home depot, I'll be happy.

Gee, it's almost been a month since I updated this blog. I'm very lazy in case you didn't know. Not too much has really been going on. Pretty much school and work. I did get a tuition reimbursment check from home depot the other day. Which is pretty sweet. If they are stupid enough to give me tuition reimbursment I'll take it. I have found that my enthusiasim that accompanied me at the begining of the semester is now gone. I rarely do any homework and yet I'm still managing to get B's and A's. I guess that will all change though. I got some papers and midterms coming up. Should be stressful. I guess I will find out in mid-March if I got into the summer research program at the NWC/OU in Norman,OK. I better get in, I dont think I can take a summer of home depot. I guess if this fail I might see if there is any kind of work I can do in the meteorology department. Anything but home depot. I've been watching a lot of South Park recently... man what a great show. Season 7 comes out on DVD towards the end of March. I'm looking for things to do over spring break. Ideas? Well I dont know anything else....

It has been a while since I have updated this blog. Not too much has really gone on since I last wrote. My car passed 130,000 a week ago or so... I really need to stop driving around putting pointless miles on it... Thinking about this summer I dont know what I am going to do right now... Hopefuly I get into that NWC/University of Oklahoma summer research program. That would solve a lot of problems. If I dont get in I dont know what Im going to do. I could take summer school or work full time. Right now with my remaning classes summer school isnt looking like a possiblity. It looks like Im going to work full time at Home Depot if I dont get in. So im praying hard that I get in... I dont think I could take a whole summer of full time work at Home Depot. I guess I could just make a ton of money this summer and use it as a down payment on a new truck. So I guess there is an advantage to it. I recently crossed 75 beers at Growlers... Over half way there to that mug... Anyways... The other day I was driving by the abandoned caleco's... I saw a sign in front that says a Chevy's is opening soon. That will be pretty cool.... hell of a lot better than the old ghetto calecos... In other news, school has been going ok so far. I have already started to slack off... I rarely do any homework... which im sure will come back to bite me in the ass, especially in differential equations.... anyways thats all for now.... work tomorrow 1-10.... ugh...

1 Week down

Well I finished up my first week of the semester... pretty uneventful.... I had one quiz in history over a map of China.... Some diff eq homework, and some reading... all in all not too busy but its going to pick up soon.... projects papers, tests, other crap....I mailed my Oklahoma summer research applicaion yesterday... I guess I have to wait until March to find out if I get in. I hope I do... not so much for the money but to get out STL and experience something new... I used to think I would never leave this town.... but now... all I can think about doing is leaving. Its weird. When school is over and I have to find a job its going to be someplace warm. I hate cold weather... which is why this January has been awesome weather wise.... probably the warmest on record or damn close anyways... which is sweet.... in other news Im going to the auto show tomorrow afternoon... I'll probably post pictures on facebook sometime tomorrow night....thats all for now....

Semester Outlook

Well its that time of the year again.... a new semester is upon us... here's my thoughts of the semester so far....

Intro to Theology: This class should be OK. It will be just like high school religion courses. Only difference is that there are girls in the class. Nothing too difficult in this class from the looks of the syllabus. A few tests, reflections (which I will probably BS... just like high school), and a project of unknown length.... Predicted Grade: A

Intro to Literary Studies: This class is going to be very boring. Shakespear, other boring dead authors and a hippie wanna be as a professor who on the first day of class compared the structure of a story to a male orgasm... Not something I want to hear at 9:30.... Predicted Grade: B

History of China since 1600: This class is going to be hard. Tons of reading and a 15-20 page research paper. Other than that the prof seems ok... maybe a little snobish... he did get his PHD from Harvard..... Predicted Grade: B

Differential Equations: "Diffy Screw" as my brother calls it.... This class is going to be very hard. I suck at math and guess what... this class relies on all the calculus I suposedly learned.... lol Predicted Grade: C (I Hope)

Atmospheric Motions: This class should be fun... Its a meteorology class so I should enjoy it... Although there is a fair amount of work required I dont think it will be a problem. Predicted Grade: A

Map and Chart: I have yet to attend this class as it is on Monday and Fridays only. But from what I have heard it isnt too bad. Predicted Grade: A

That is my semester. I hope I end up doing well. I really hope I pass Diff EQ becuase I really dont want to take it this summer or next fall.... more motivation to work harder I suppose....

6. People who think throwing money at a problem is going to fix it (Government)
7. Bums who ask for change to get loaded around SLU...
8. Netflix.. Why cant I rent more than 12 movies a month if your slogan says "Unlimited"

Stock Market

After months of pestering by my parents I have finally invested in the market. Hopefuly it works out well for me. I doubt I'll make a ton but it's better than having it sit in my savings account earning 1%. Anyways, school starts a week from tomorrow. 18 hours of credit. It should be fun. Its kind of boring around here now. Everyone is back at school. School should provide some excitement and something to do. Although I am not looking foreward to Differential Equations. That class is probably going to suck. Other than that it shouldnt be too bad. Im still looking for something to do over spring break. If anyone has any ideas let me know...

The first post of the new year! I have recovered from the flu. It sucked. Spent 2 days in bed feeling like crap and another 2 feeling so-so. Anyways... Not too much has really been going on. My crappy car has yet another problem... a bad starter... right now it looks like a bad shoe inside it. Thats going to cost about 300 to replace. Thats another thing. I have spent way too much money this past month and my credit card bill is like $800. Although 300 was for a previous repair and probably another 100 was stuff my parents gave me money for... but still... I should really cut back on spending. School is still over 2 weeks away. I would like to go back now and get it done. Im also working on an application to go to "research camp" this summer in Oklahoma. 10 weeks of work = $5,000. Way more than I'd make at home depot and its doing something I enjoy. If I dont get it I guess its summer school @ SLU for me and work at Home Depot. I guess it could be worse. A lot of people I know are graduating from school in the spring (Only taking 4 years). I only wish I could go back in time and tell myself what I know now. I wouldnt have wasted 1.5 years on business school. Its going to take me 6 years to get through school. Oh well I guess I can look at it positive. I am going to be doing something I love. Its just a shame I had to waste 2 years of school to find out what it was I really wanted to do...

Christmas Break

So far this break has been pretty good. Managed to go to Growlers a couple of times and Im up to 54 beers now. Probably even more on Wednesday. I also went to the casino. I've had some good luck playing blackjack and baccarat. Got my grades for the semester not too long ago. 2 A's, 2 B's and a C+. I probably could have done better but I'm lazy and it shows. As for Christmas I did pretty well. Got some money, couple of DVD sets, a Bulger home jersey, couple of shirts and ties and some gift cards to various places. Overall a good Christmas.

Thanks to SLU I have to take 2 finals on Monday. Climate and Geology. I think im going to do fine on my climate final. Geology is going to be hard. I havent even really started to study for these finals yet either. I'll probably just study for the climate one tomorrow after the geology one. Anyways, enough about school. Christmas is a week away now. Thats hard to believe. It seems just like christmas was just yesterday. Theres a lot of stuff I would like to do over christmas break, but I guess I'll just sit back and see what happens. I know im probably going to growlers at least a couple of times. Im going to finish that beer card by spring. I went there the other night and I was taking to this guy next to me. Apparently he is like the first one to ever finish a beer card there. His name was first on the list anyways. Right now he is working on his 19th, repeat, 19th beer card. I dont think i'd drink that much there. I just want the 1st one. Get the fancy mug and cheaper beer. Speaking of bars... mwahahaha Caleco's is boarded up and gutted. I also went to the casino not too long ago. I ended up winning $80 playing roulette. Even though the odds are crappy. I just bet the outside. even-odd, red-black, ect. All those pay even money. Could bet inside but my odds get really crappy. I think next time I go im going to try my luck at baccart or however its spelled. I dont really know enough about blackjack and other games to play. I guess with christmas break lasting a month I should have plenty opperunity to do a lot....

Finals blow...

I hate finals. The amount of information that you are required to know can be overwhelming. It's all a plot to ruin my grades. lol. Anyways finals start on wednesday. I have my EAS 103 and my History 111 finals. These two shouldnt be too bad. I've done pretty well on the tests in these classes so far this semester so I figure I should do well on the finals. However, the one that is going to kick my ass is Calc III. I did well on the first two test, but I screwed up big time on the third one. Since it is a math class the final is comprehensive. And go figure 125 of the 200 points is over stuff I screwed up big time. ugh! That final is on Thursday. So I got a little time to re-learn this stuff but its hard. Plus the fact that I suck at math doesnt help either. Other than that I have my Geology and Climatology finals on monday. These shouldnt be too bad. I figure that after all is said and done that I should have 3 A's, a B, and maybe a C or B in calc. We shall see.... then its winter break and soon spring semester, a semester filled with 18 hours... ugh...

Thanksgiving Update

So far thanksgiving break has been pretty fun. I've actually gone out and done stuff. Tuesday night was bowling at Four Seasons... $1 games and draft beers...I ended up spending more money on beer than I did on bowling... Although they only charged us for like 1 game a piece even though we probably bowled around 6. I didnt feel too bad on wednesday morning. Last night Nick and I went to growlers... where I added some more too my beer card... I think im up to like 33 beers now. Thanks to Nick for adding his to mine. Anyways, today is thanksgiving. Not too much has really happened around here. My grandma came over and we had the usual thanksgiving meal. Other than that I have just been watching movies all day long. My family is setting up the Christmas tree and stuff. I however am updating this blog. It goes to show you how much enthusiasm I have for the whole holiday season. Maybe it will change with time....

Test

Well its the night before two test so I figure that this is as good a time as any to update this thing. Two tests tomorrow, one in climatology and the other in earth systems. Nothing else has really been going on. I thought about buying a pinball machine, however the prices for the ones that I want are too much. Upwards of 3000+. I was thinking of buying something around 1500 but there really isnt any thing I want in that price range. I look at a Whirlwind for 1800 the other day but it was going to require a lot of work to make playable. Mostly electrical problems, of which i know nothing about. Anyways, I figure i'll just save up the money I have for a truck seeing as how my crappy taurus wont last forever. As for other things, not much is really going on. I was thinking of going to the AMS job fair in Atlanta this January, but I really dont see the point as my graduation date is probably 1.5 - 2 years away. I guess thats all for now.....

There isnt much really going on.... school is boring.... and home depot sucks.... this up coming week I have a history paper on the spread of Islam due, a climotology test, and an earth systems test. The two test are on wednesday. blah.... I counted the spare change I have saved up.... $135 give or take.... that is one years worth of change.... thats impressive i guess.... We are getting our AMS t-shirts in the begining of December.... "We do it with models" is the slogan on the back of it..... lol.... its worth the $14 I spent on it.... and for the snowfall contest Im going to put my money on the 12th and 13th of december.... i better win......

A random update

Seeing as how I have a test tomrrow morning over earthquakes and the like I figured that I would update my blog. Not too much has been going on recently. I got my midterm grades the other day. These are the offical ones. I got an A in EAS 103... B+'s in History and Global Climate, and B's in Calculus 3 and Geology. I thought at the begining of the semester that Geology would be a piece of cake. Its not though. Too many damn minerals and rocks and different formations. At least earthquakes are pretty easy to understand.

As for other things. There hasnt been much going on. Starting to think about what to take next semester. Probably differential equations, an ethics class, theology, atmospheric motions, and map and chart. Not too difficult but not too easy either. Should be fun. I also think that in March or April some of us in the AMS are going to go to elementary schools around St.Louis to teach them about weather. Wow look at me voulenteering for something. lol.

While I was thinking of what to take next semester I saw the list of classes yet to take. I have a feeling that if I am to graduate in the next two years Im going to have to go to summer school. Oh well. I am also thinking of an internship. Although I dont know. I think I might just work at home depot and do the summer school thing. Then at least I have some time and might be able to travel. Dont know where yet but I got some ideas. Well this was pretty random... until next time.

Its that time of the semester again... MIDTERMS! I have 3 midterms this week... I had the History one and the physical cilmatology one so far... I have a calc 3 one on friday... I got a B+ on the climatology one and a B on the history one... dumbass mistakes cost me on both test... when will i learn.... lol... anyways that about all for now....

I'm actually involved in stuff this semester.... I spent an hour and a half in a boring ass SOC meeting.... what a waste i could of emailed the info and saved $6 in gas and I wouldnt have been asked by about 5 bums on grand for change to go get loaded..... Also the secretary for the AMS here..... we are going to have t-shirts this year.... "We do models" or something along those lines will be the tag line...... I have also applied for a undergraduate research job..... get like $8 an hour.... hopefuly i get this job then I could quit home deopt..... that would be sweet.... its not as much as home depot but it sure is a hell of a lot more valueable to me...... anyways.... thats about all for now.......

People who talk on cell phones constantly..... entering class the phone is attached to the head.... as soon as the prof stops talking the phone is back.... why the hell do people find it necessary to talk to people 24/7.... It's a pain in the ass.... i'm in the library... studying... what happens.... someones gay ass cell phone goes off with some dumb ass ring..... Another thing that pisses me off is that the morons spend so much time looking at their phones that they dont look where they are walking.... oh gee lets slow down and block me from getting to go where I need to go... they always manage to block the walkways with the most traffic too...... I also hate when people sit down in class and hold a converstaion on the phone.... I heard a conversation about some womans period in history this afternoon....WTF... there are somethings I dont want to hear about and that is one of them...... I find that people talk about the most pointless crap too..... what a fucking waste of money cell phones are.... the only useful thing cell phones are good for is emergencies.... other than that a huge waste of money and materials

So far this semester hasnt been too bad.... minus the paper that I have due wednesday for history.... the amount of work I have done hasnt been much... My opinions of my classes so far this semester:

1. EAS 103- Earth Systems II..... class shouldnt be too hard, however the lecture will put you to sleep.... which doesn't help as this class is at 8 AM.......

2. EAS 101- Earth Systems I... This class is probably going to be hard... not so much in the amount of work I have to do, but more so in the difficulty of the material.... this guy goes in to a lot of depth.

3. EAS 253- Physical Climatology... This class is probably the most interesting of all my classes.... Dr.Pasken has a few screws loose in his head but is very informative.... The nice thing about 4 of the 7 homework assignments is that they are computer model runs which only requires me to push a few buttons and let it do all the work for me..... over all i dont think that this class will cause too many problems....

4. History 111- Western Civ to 1450..... this class ranks high in the boredom factor.... Class shouldnt be too hard however it requires that I write a lot....

5. Math 244- Calculus III..... This class is going to be easy just because of the fact that I took it this summer.... so far I've aced all the quizzes... Dr.Tsau has a voice that will put you to sleep though... speaks really quietly.... hard to understand at times but my knowledge of Calc III from the summer will help a lot....

Overall it shouldnt be a very tough semester.... I am doing one activity and that is the American Meteorological Society (AMS). I am the secretary of the student chapter @ SLU.... Sounds like were going to do some fun stuff... go to some confrences.... stuff like that.... anyways.... thats about all thats up with me......

I decided to delete some of my old posts as they didnt have any real value..... On to more recent things.....

Not much has really happened this summer.... I've been working at Home Depot on saturdays.... same old stuff there.....I finished up summer school... ended up passing engineering physics II and got a D in Calc III. I was short of the C by about 30 points..... I was screwed in that class anyways...... School starts at SLU on the 29th.... I'm looking foreward to going there.... should be fun now considering that I am now majoring in something I care about..... I went to another state besides MO or IL for the first time in about 5 years..... even though it was IN it was nice to get away for a while.... hopefuly next summer I have an internship..... I have a few leads right now.... one is in Houston....well I dont know too much else.....
